The Daily Planet, Raleigh NC

I have a love for maps and globes, new and old, and if I ever settle down I know my home will be plastered with them. So when I discovered there is a GIANT earth in downtown Raleigh, I had to take a quick swing by to this roadside attraction. The Daily Planet looks like it rolled right into the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. The earth isn’t the largest replica in the world, but it is still quite impressive standing 72 feet tall.

Inside its core there is a theater with a 2,000 square foot screen which projects nature scenes. While I didn’t visit the museum, if it’s anything like the façade it should be loads of fun within.
