Florida’s Natural Orange Juice Visitors Center

Get your daily Vitamin C and prevent scurvy while visiting Florida’s Natural Orange Juice Visitors Center [20160 US Highway 27 Lake Wales, Florida 33853-2425].

The Grove House is across the street from Florida’s Natural production site. This free factory tour is the perfect place to learn a thing or two about America’s favorite breakfast juice. Start with identifying different varieties of orange trees outside. The business was organized in 1933, and today they are one of the biggest citrus growers with 60,000+ acres in Central Florida. Squeeze on inside check out the Orange Juice museum.

Learn all about oranges from their nutrition, the area history and weather where they grow, and packing. There is a 14 minute film in the formal theater and plenty of interesting artifacts on the ground – like an antique orange juice vending machine. I love old fashioned advertisements, there is a collection of them dating back to the 1890s!

Lots of things to learn, I was shocked to see pictures of frost throughout Florida – which ruined some crops! In the gift shop there are samples, juices that you’d find in the store

and some orange flavored popcorn. I was hoping for some fresh oranges from the grove or bizarre flavored juices, but it was free so no complaining! The gift shop is filled with fun orange themed products such as citrus scented soaps, orange candles, and juices of course! Orange you glad you visited?
