The Galapagos is not a culinary destination, and when you divert from Santa Cruz – your options for dining dwindle. While on San Cristobal we discovered one restaurant that was superb, and we stuck with it for our nightly fish.
Bambu is located a block back from the main drag and has the grill smoking around 6PM.

Their whole grilled fish is flavorful, delectable, and extremely affordable.

It comes with a selection of veggies, my favorite the potatoes slathered in a white sauce. Also, a plate of rice and excellent beans. Another treasure we came upon was
Bakery Cuencan Taste.

Once again, away from the main drag, this spot is located behind Chalo Tours – visible from the main street. Many breads and sweets are available – the maiz con queso makes for a good hearty hiking snack to pack in your bag.

I was curious about this funky looking snack, which had a savory custard filling and sweet toasted coconut flakes.

Have you been to San Cristobal? What are your favorite restaurants?

A girls got to eat! But thank you and more wildlife to come, that was the highlight of the trip for sure!
It’s really not the food that piques my interest in the Galapagos. It’s mainly about the animals as your pictures have so vividly displayed.
