Sea Lions of San Cristobal, Galapagos

Walking around the city of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno in San Cristobal you’ll most certainly encounter the sights and smells of sea lions. These creatures took over the beaches closest to the main drag, so much so you really wouldn’t want to intrude.

It is absolutely fascinating to watch these slumbering beasts, day and night. They are always up to something interesting whether it is climbing up a lighthouse, hopping on a boat, or a buoy.
The Galapagos sea lion is an endemic species, they are the smaller cousin of the California sea lion. They are only found on the archipelago, so enjoy them while you are on San Cristobal.
