Oasis is another great spot in Center Square. Similar to the Dutch Pot, Oasis (4 Delaware Avenue Albany, NY 12210) is another place I visited just once a long while back when it first opened. Within walking distance and a perfect spot to pick up some fantastic grub. We called in our order and took home a heaping bag. We started with an some manakeesh, a Lebanese flatbread which we chose to put mozz on. It was heavy with some interesting and tasty spices. It was great for scooping up yummy baba ghanoush.
We got little containers of tzatziki and some soup like tomato sauce with beans in it to accompany our main event, the koozi sham. This whopping mass is some serious comfort food, just like a pot pie.
I got chicken in mine and it was chock full of rice, chicken, and various veggies.
The dough was great and homemade. It laid on a bed of light greens and crisp onions which added some freshness to the dense meal. To me it tasted great with both sauces, Jeff preferred tzatziki. The food was so perfect on a cold night!
