This weekend we hit the road and headed up to the Adirondacks. Our destination was Sleeping Beauty Mountain for a nice 7 mile hike. The lot was relatively packed, but the numerous trails were anything but crowded. We scored some delicious apples from a tree along the trails.
And noticed an abandoned structure.
There were birds and chipmunks and brightly colored caterpillars (doesn’t he look like the Lorax??) and red efts about.
After a relatively mild hike we zigzagged up to the summit.
It was very blustery but very beautiful as well on this overcast day.
We looped through some lovely woods to get to Bump pond.
It was a great way to spend an afternoon, and great to hit the couch when we made it back!
