Riverfront Park in Rensselaer

I feel like I have to soak up all these warm days, because I’m not sure which one is going to be the last. I had a lovely sunset picnic at the Riverfront Park in Rennsalear. It’s right over the Dunn Memorial bridge by the Amtrak station, you may have noticed murals on the pillars as you’ve passed by. There is a little brown sign with binoculars on it pointing to the parking lot. This little park has got a whole lot to offer for both kids and adults alike. For kids you will notice two great playground sets and real seesaws. There are tennis and basketball courts. Benches, a gazebo, and bathroom facilities. I saw people fishing off of the pier. A great view of the Hudson River where you can look at the USS Slater and see her beautiful ‘dazzle’ camouflage paint job.

For the time being you can also see the Half-moon, a replica of the ship Henry Hudson took up thh river.

The murals are fantastic, and so plentiful, this is a part of the Living Walls project. Some are in need of repair while others look fresh.

I loved hanging out under the bridge in this unique park.
