Verdigris Tea and Chocolate Bar in Hudson

What a wintertime haven! We came in here to warm up after a nearby chilly hike and were so happy that we did. This place is blissful, located right on Warren St (135 Warren Street, Hudson, NY 12534). It is filled with three things that I really adore, especially in wintertime: tea, hot cocoa, and decadent dessert. It was hard to steer away from the amazing tea collection, but how often do you find hot cocoa like this? Not often at all. I did however enjoy sniffing around their tea library. IMG_3144You can go up to the drinks counter and take a look at the chalkboard menu. IMG_3143Jeff decided on a Mexican hot chocolate chock full of cayenne pepper to add some extra heat to the drink. I got a dark chocolate cup dubbed ‘Hudson Cocoa’ and it was truly perfection. Sometimes when you order hot cocoa it is too sweet, and while this was perfect for my sweet tooth, the dark chocolate toned it down to a wonderful level where I could actually finish the cup. Along with our drinks Jeff got a piece of pear crumb cake which was totally divine and I got a raspberry linzer which was quite tasty. It was totally worth braving the cold of the day to get out here and visit this amazing little gem. Along with the drinks and desserts the shop boasts a great assortment of candies, local products, and drink accessories. Outside we noticed the cutest holiday yarn bomb!
