Damn good Tex-Mex tacos! Torchy’s Tacos is a regional franchise mainly found throughout Texas, with some locations in Oklahoma and Colorado.
Order up at the counter and food is brought out to the table. The menu is fairly extensive and breakfast tacos are served all day. But this trip was about dinner. Two tacos a piece worked like a charm, my plate had the Alabama Shake, a cornmeal crusted catfish and the Fried Avocado with – you guessed it.
Great crust on the fried components and flavorful pairings. My husband couldn’t resist the Trailer Park, fried chicken with green chiles – you can ‘get it trashy’ which takes off the lettuce and adds queso.
He also went for the green chile pork. If you love trying local fast food, this is for you. They are open late too, so it is perfect for a quick un-fussy meal after finding your way to Austin, Texas.
