Cheese dip, something eaten in bowling alleys and at game day parties across America is said to be invented in Arkansas. It is a regional dish beloved by the people that must be experienced when in the Natural State! The rendition at Dizzy’s Gypsy Bistro is a wonderful place to indulge in Arkansas cheese dip.
On the menu it is called the award winning Le Petit Roche cheese dip. The serving is gourmet, warm and creamy with a great depth of flavor, delicately topped with pico, salsa, sour cream, and scallions as not to overpower the main component, but enhance it. If you choose to add chicken or beef it could make an entire meal! More than enough warm chips to scoop with accompany the dish.
The service was extremely efficient and friendly. Decor was superbly eclectic, indoor and outdoor seating are available. So we came for the cheese dip and stayed for the ambiance enjoying an entire meal.
The turkey sandwich was perfect. The griddled bread was hot and buttery, with a good amount of meat inside. An excellent pesto and just enough creamy mayo amped up the flavor. Ripe tomatoes gave just a hint of acidity complimenting the sandwich.
Fries were cooked well, crisp and airy, plus the pickle was sour and crunchy. We had a lovely dinner for two which only cost $30. We were in and out in about 30 minutes without feeling rushed in the slightest.
