The heat in Nashville is no joke, so stifling at times all you want to do is jump in the nearest body of water. Percy Priest Lake is that place, its perimeter lined with parks and resorts. Anderson Beach is off of Anderson Road, is a great and inexpensive place to cool down.
This is quite a popular park with a shady green picnic area, a sandy slab of shore, and a roped off swimming area.
There are no rules against swimming outside of the ropes if you are confident and want a bit more room to yourself.
Boaters and anglers love the lake as well. There is a campground and fitness trail adjacent to the park if you’re looking to spend the day, and night!
