An inspired restaurant that will leave an impression on you for a long time, it is worth going out of your way to dine at the Indigo Coastal Shanty [1402 Reynolds St Brunswick, GA 31520].
What may seem like a rustic exterior leads to a perfectly romantic patio, but if weather is not ideal there is indoor seating as well.
Clearly hand picked, the drink menu offers great craft brews and included one of the smoothest glasses of wine I’ve had. Indulge in an order of sweet potato fries, thick cut, yet airy and perfectly crispy seasoned with flaky salt and herbs.
Easily the best I’ve ever had. The sesame crusted catfish was so fresh and had an incredible coating, so comforting, yet so elevated with the spiked tarter sauce.
The jasmine rice soaked up the miso sauce. This was such a delectable entrée, filling, and modestly priced. If you get the Point Loma fish sandwich, go blackened – the char is out of this world.
More of that tangy spiked tarter sauce accompanies this righteous sandwich. Don’t dare leave without ordering dessert. The warm cajeta sundae is one of the best brownies I’ve ever gotten, with a Mexican flavor profile.
With food this good, you won’t want to split – we ordered two desserts and the Georgia peach pound cake was also epically delicious, griddled in butter and drenched in bourbon caramel sauce.
I was shocked at how affordable the bill was for all of the food and drinks of this fantastic quality, with such a lovely atmosphere, and wonderful service. You get more for what you pay for at this restaurant, a very memorable meal.
