Satchel’s Pizza in Gainesville, Florida

Would you like to eat in a van?

Would you like to eat under a plane on land?

You could simply eat inside.

Anywhere you dine your eyes will open wide.

An oasis of kitsch in Central Florida, don’t miss experiencing Satchel’s Pizza [1800 NE 23rd Ave Gainesville, FL 32609] when traveling through Gainesville.

Their menu is small and colorful. They sell pizza pies, calzones, and a salad.

Also, they have homemade sodas and you can sample them all by trying a flight. We had already eaten dinner, but wanted to check out the junk museum regardless.

The buildings, including a greenhouse you can eat in, and parking lot are an explosion of eclectic art.

Good thing they have baked in house desserts. Keeping with the Italian motif there are cannolis, but something about that chocolate cake screamed – don’t pass me by!

It was rich, moist, and made me wish I got a chance to eat a full meal here surrounded by obscene local art – particularly between 6-9PM when they have live music. Note that the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays and the it is cash only.
