A mom and pop shop that’s got everything you need. That is, if you subsist off of homemade food and pinball, of course. Café One [403 US 1 Ormond Beach, FL 32174] is tucked away in an unsuspecting little strip, just north of Daytona Beach.
Parking is a cinch. We came to play pinball and couldn’t have had a better experience. The machines are in mint condition and the atmosphere is mellow – in the afternoon you’ll only find those who were coming in for a bite or who are real pinball fans.
Along with some of the newest games on the scene, Aerosmith, the Hobbit, and Wizard of Oz – there are great machines from the 90s like Fish Tales and perfect for the atmosphere – Diner.
Can’t speak enough to the friendliness of the staff. Only open until 2:30 PM daily it was time for them to close up, but they invited us to stay and play pinball for as long as we wanted! Didn’t get a chance to try any of their food, but the locals seemed to be enjoying it and the iced coffee is on point! Would love to come back to try some breakfast and of course play pinball again!
You can find older games for 50 cents, and sometimes deals $2 for 3 games. Brand new machines sometimes run for $1 a pop. Other places charge admission and you can play all day.
