Known as a pizza place, but what caught my eye wasn’t a pie. One 6 Three [163 Foster St, New Haven, CT 06511] has quite the eclectic menu, from poutine to fried oreos.
I could not resist the call of the chicken and waffles – a cheddar bacon waffle nonetheless, with avocado and maple mustard sauce. It sounded just crazy enough to be incredible. And it was! Make sure to pour some of that honey in those crannies. On the side, the cucumbers were lightly pickled.
A whole page of tempting looking specials, but after a day of hiking it was time for a carb overload. The mac and cheese of the day was LOADED with bacon, insanely creamy and delicious. This relatively new restaurant pumps out elevated comfort food in an unsuspecting part of the city. Very relaxed, very delicious.

It’s by New England Brewing Co, whose website says they are in Woodbridge, CT.

Killer IPA! The brewery is in CT, somewhere I still need to try out.
The thing that most intrigues me in these photos is the Sea Hag IPA. 😉
