Behind every great king is a there’s a great queen. Queens Comfort [40-09 30th Ave, Astoria, NY 11103] is truly reigns supreme on the weekend brunch scene. Even on a rainy day there was a bit of a line outside, but the brunch bouncer was ready with jokes at your own requested offensive rating level. Inside the place is loaded with memorabilia from the good old days, there is enough going on to keep you occupied until your food comes along.
If you are there on a day where the rainbow cookie crumb cake is available (it was on my Sunday visit), I implore you to order it. A true culinary treasure, two items I could never think to combine create a wonderful dream. Moist layers of my favorite marzipan cookie and a generous heap of crumble topping – this is one of the top bites I’ve had in ages.
That was just an appetizer though, keep brunching on. They have temptin names like cap’n crunch crusted chicken sandwich, hobbits salty pork bennedict, oreo brioche french toast, and egg mcruffin. We went for the avocado and bacon benedict with poached eggs, spinach, red pepper, and hollandaise on a buttermilk biscuit.
Another most supremely delicious meal, fresh and creamy, so many flavors swirling in perfection. To top it off? A corn flake crusted chicken and waffles in a maple Tabasco glaze.
We didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day! Treat yourself like royalty and grab a fantastic meal in Astoria.
Try a Sunday!! Worth braving the lines…I want to go back for their donuts on a Saturday 😀
I love Queens Comfort! I’ve never been lucky enough to try their rainbow cookie crumb cake thought! Looks soooo goooood! 🙂
