Hands down, the best Greek food I have ever eaten. This is the real deal and I can’t recommend Eat Greek Kouzina [150 E Tarpon Ave, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689] enough. I would highly suggest making reservations. The restaurant is located away from the sponge docks in the historic district, a dim intimate atmosphere in a 1909 building.
Great service even with a huge party ahead of us. Bread was served with spiced and feta topped olive oil, too good!
We started with something neither of us knew existed, Cheese Saganaki. It’s Greek Kasseri cheese, pan fried, flambéed, and topped with lime equaling something absolutely exquisite. Crisp, creamy, oozing with complex flavors, it was gone all too soon.
The grilled veggie platter with homemade fig balsamic glaze was a super tasty healthy appetizer.
For our mains we went with small plates, but they were heaping portions. I got the chicken meze which came in a creamy cognac curry sauce, it was so luscious and buttery begging to be lapped up with the warm pita.
Jeff went for the Spetsofai, a homemade Greek sausage stuffed with leeks and feta, sautéed with peppers and onions in a spicy tomato sauce. He was just as in love as I was. We were so full from all this food! Don’t forget to grab a Greek beer to pair with your meal.
There are many Greek restaurants in the city of Tarpon Springs, but I couldn’t have been happier with my choice at this wonderful establishment.
I’m still dreaming of it.
This looks so delicious!
