Another hip spot on the scene in Troy, and this one is a real crowd pleaser: Troy Kitchen [77 Congress St, Troy, NY 12180] has something for everything.
Enter and decide on why you are here, are you heading to the bar and lounge or the food court?
Really the choice isn’t a big deal because they are connected. I didn’t get a chance to hang out at the bar, but it looked very trendy.
I was hungry so over to the food court, a simple row of vendors bright and diverse. From Hawaiian (I can’t believe the Capital Region has POKE<3) to Mexican, and everything in between, there is really a lot going on here.
Food courts always make me a bit nervous when it comes to seating, because it’s not explicit. However, we had no trouble at all finding space, there were plenty of tables. I was hearing so many good things about Troy Lobster, but I’ve never actually ordered lobster before. It looked good, it smelled good, I decided to take the plunge. It was ultimately delicious. A thick toasty bun was a perfect vessel for the tender and generous hunks of lobster…so buttery and finger licking good.
Jeff went for some flavorful Korean food from K-Plate, so much food for so little money!
We went a little buck wild at the candy station for dessert. There were just so many options. A sugary nostalgic captain crunch bar, blow torched smores,
a rich caramel laden turtle brownie, and a succulent cake colorful pop.
Wow, we were piggies, but everything was right on. When you get back out into the fresh air, check around the corner in the alley to find some pretty sweet murals.
Can’t wait to come back for some POKE, my favorite food on earth!
