There used to be plenty of pinball arcades in Manhattan, but now only one remains. Luckily for those who love the game, Modern Pinball [362 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10016] is a pretty amazing spot to be left with.
It’s an unlimited play so no matter what your skill level you’re sure to have a blast and try out as many machines as you’d like. You can pay by the hour ($12) or stay for the whole day ($29) – also be sure to look for the occasional a groupon online and note that students and seniors get 10% off all rates. There are so many machines, all in excellent working condition. I never feel more in tune with my inner wizard than when I’m playing Tommy,
there are great newer machines like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones,
older gems from the 70s,
and even some I’ve never seen before like Wheel of Fortune! The place can get crowded, but never so much that I was without a choice of quite a few machines.
There are quite a few barcades around the city, but if you are truly devout to pinball, this is your place.
