An old, nothing special, beat-up barge…but place it out on the water across from Manhattan and watch it transform into something pretty spectacular. The Brooklyn Barge [3 Milton St Brooklyn, NY 11222] is a hip new-ish spot in the Greenpoint neighborhood, however it’s got a totally relaxed ambiance.
The drinks aren’t super expensive like you’ll find at some city bars, especially when you think about what you’re getting here:
An unobstructed, perfect view of the city skyline.
Funny what a simple string of lights can do for the mood.
I haven’t tried their food yet, though the menu looks pretty interesting. This is definitely a desirable place to spend an evening, especially if you plan to watch the sun go down and stay to watch the city light up.
