Markets:

Marché du Vieux-Port de Québec, 160 Quai Saint-André, Ville de Québec, QC G1K 3Y2, Canada

Marche_du_Vieux_Port_de_QuebecA varied market on the water at the edge of Old Quebec. You’ll find meal options, snacks, produce, knick knacks, and flowers.

J.A. Moisan, 695 Rue Saint-Jean, Ville de Québec, QC G1R 1P7, Canada

J_A_Moisan_quebec_cityThe oldest grocery store in North America with everything you would expect to find when food shopping, plus many regional items and a lunch counter.

Sweets and coffee:

La Petite Cabane à Sucre de Québec, 94 Rue du Petit Champlain, Ville de Québec, QC G1K 4H5, Canada

maple_taffy_quebec_cityI thought that I would be seeing tire d’erable, maple taffy, everywhere in Quebec City. I came to find out that it is a seasonal treat, which makes sense because you need snow to create it. I had resigned to the fact I wouldn’t be having any in the summer time. Walking around Old Quebec we randomly ran into a sugar shack thinking of getting some ice cream when I saw a sign for the taffy. The friendly worker whipped up a fresh batch of the sugary treat, hot maple syrup cooled down on cold shaved ice. Ooygooegy, what a delight!

Erico, 634 Rue Saint-Jean, Ville de Québec, QC G1R 1P8, Canada

erico_quebec_cityIn one room you will find a tempting assortment of chocolates, I devoured a delicious deeply meringue. In the adjacent room is a chocolate museum telling the history of chocolate and housing some wild chocolate creations!

Cantook Micro Torréfaction, 575 Rue Saint-Jean, Ville de Québec, QC G1R 1P5, Canada

Cantook_quebec_cityThese people are really serious about their love for coffee. Wonderful brew and atmosphere.

Bars:

Macfly Bar Arcade, 422 Rue Caron, Ville de Québec, QC G1K 3B1, Canada

Macfly_Bar_Arcade_quebec_cityProbably the coolest bar I have ever been to! A little dive-y, it wasn’t packed and that made me happy. There were tons of old school pinball and arcade games that you can play for free! The colors and retro decorations were incredible. They had a local cider on tap. Seriously, this is my dream bar.

La Korrigane, 380 Rue Dorchester, Ville de Québec, QC G1K 6A7, Canada

La_Korrigane_quebec_cityA really cool little brewery with some tasty beer. The ambiance is what really got me though. I loved all of the funky art on the walls, the FOOSBALL TABLE, hockey on tv, games to play, a nice big patio, plus the food smelled amazing. Would have loved to try their poutine, next time!
