After a long day of exploring the Boston area, I wanted to end on a sweet note. Who are we kidding? I always want to end on a sweet note, not matter what I’ve done with my day. A visit to L.A. Burdick Chocolates [52 Brattle St, Cambridge, MA 02138] was especially sweet and perfect. They were open nice and late on a Saturday and although it was almost closing time (9pm), the place was still popping!
We went to the Cambridge location because we thought it would be quieter, but there is a Boston location as well. Parking on Brattle St was busy, but after circling we found a spot a two minute walk away by some Harvard buildings. We saw some really cool lit up art on their campus there, bonus!
One of their popular items is drinking chocolate, but that always seems a bit too intense for me. They have pastries and other drinks with seating in the back, that was the real crowded area. After looking there we were more tempted by the little chocolates up front, and taking them to go to eat in our Airbnb. The penguins and mice were almost too cute to eat!
But I’m not that nice. The milk chocolate mouse was my favorite of our bonbon selection. It was light as air, texturally superb, and not overly sweet – simply perfection. Possibly some of the best chocolate I’ve ever tasted. I’m happy there is a Manhattan location, more chocolate closer to home.
