After a long day of hiking in the wet New Hampshire woods, barbeque sounded like heaven. Screaming Boar Smokehouse [40 W Main St, Littleton, NH 03561] took us in with a tender heart and gave us tender meat to eat, we were thankful. The clouds had cleared so we opted to sit outside on the quiet patio and put in our orders. Service was great and the food came out in good time. I opted for a buffalo salad which had a plentiful portion of pulled chicken smothered in buffalo sauce, so tender as mentioned, and flavorful.
The plate was piled high with greens, some cucumber, tomato, red onion, and a big ol topping of cheese. I’m not the biggest cheese eater so I sifted a big portion of it to the side, but it was certainly tasty for someone who digs it. I did choose to get the homemade blue cheese dressing which was quite tasty. I was very happy and satisfied from this meal. Jeff got the Cajun meatloaf which he says was as incredible as they boast.
Two sides came with his meal, baked beans which were seriously out of this world, the best we’ve ever had, and some darn good mac and cheese. Oh, and he got a slab of cornbread. Well, I couldn’t resist ordering my own side of cornbread and by golly this was ‘mmm-azing.
Sweet and crumbly, savory, all sorts of goodness. Yes we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner feast at Screaming Boars, it hit the spot.
