Do you ever feel like you’re walking on a cloud when you’re eating a piece of cheesecake? Drive down a country road in Washington County you’ll come upon a monastery where the Nuns of New Skete [343 Ashgrove Rd, Cambridge, NY 12816] say they have some seriously heavenly cheesecake. Ring the bell and enter the gift shop with some odds ends, and a board full of cheesecake flavors.
There were many tempting combinations, but raspberry ripple was ultimately the one for us. The smallest amount you can order is a double slice for $5.50. It’s perfect for sharing. We found a quiet spot by a nearby creek and picnicked with our sinfully delicious dessert.
The little slices were dense, rich, and indeed as heavenly as advertised. You can order whole cheesecakes online and get them shipped if you feel like blessing a party without driving out to Washington County!
