A small town brewery with big flavor, we had a great time hanging out and tasting some beers at the Argyle Brewing Company [1 Main St, Greenwich, NY 12834]. The space is pretty small, but it has character. Some interesting business was hanging on their walls along with little knickknacks for purchase like argyle brewing co earrings.
Let’s get down to business though. At the time we visited the guys had seven of their own beers on tap and two local ciders. Their taps change seasonally.
After our friendly host walked us through the menu we picked a flight of colorful brews to split for just a few bucks.
My two choices were the black currant cider which ended up being my personal favorite, a deeply fruity and dangerous cider which tasted like juice, and a light refreshing shandy perfect for a post-hike drink. Jeff’s top choice was the woodland ale, also our hosts favorite, so this might be a good one to grab a pint of. He also wanted to check out the alt bier which was created with a different kind of yeast, the team has their own microbiologist on board to help create some mad delicious science. When ‘farm to glass’ is a catchphrase of yours, I am a fan. Mix in tasty libations and a friendly bartender, you’ve got a lovely little microbrew!
