Tucson: Tasteful Kitchen

I am not a vegan, but if I could eat at this restaurant everyday I would become one! Tucson’s Tasteful Kitchen [722 N. Stone Ave., Tucson, parking lot] has amazing gourmet vegan and vegetarian cuisine; no carnivore could deny the deliciousness whipped up here.

IMG_4055The atmosphere is intimate and hip; all funky local art adorns the walls. IMG_4057 IMG_4058 IMG_4066Warm colors remind you you’re in Tucson. Service is quick and friendly, I was never left thirsty and food came out appropriately after ordering. The menu is always changing because seasonal fruits and vegetables are used. Pickled veggies came out complimentary. IMG_4056We got roasted sweet potatoes to start, a curry mayo dipping cut the sweetness, these bad boys will melt in your mouth. IMG_4061All entrées come with a soup of the day and the zucchini soup was perfect with homemade cracker broken up into it. IMG_4060I got the Jicama and Cashew Gnocchi which was phenomenal! The gnocchi was rich, creamy, and nutty paired and the lightness of the pesto zucchini noodles and crispy matchstick vegetables created a great balance. IMG_4064I loved the dehydrated beet powder that topped it! The food was so filling it became lunch the next day! Dessert was a rich chocolate cupcake with strawberry sauce. IMG_4065We were both full but couldn’t resist, so we split it and had sweet satisfaction! This may be a vegetarian restaurant, but you won’t find any tofu here, just tasty goodness.
