Had a great time hiking around this gorgeous reservoir on a warm winter afternoon, in Larchmont (685 Weaver Street, Larchmont, NY 10538). There are lots of little trails to explore and if you combine them you can get just under 2.5 miles. We started off making our way around a little pond; the sun was glittering on the water as we took a trail towards the Goodliffe dam. We were excited to see that there was another larger lake as we continued on the trail. This too had its own dam, which was nice to sit upon and look out at the water and soak up a bit of winter sun. There is a gorgeous estate across the way and the lake is filled with birds, most notably hooded mergansers. Part of the trail is adjacent to residential homes, what a wonderful backyard they have. There were a few people out using the trails, but this place was on the quieter side. The trails pop out onto roads, and I’m not sure if all of the loops still connect. While it could use a bit of maintenance, we never got lost and had a wonderful time!
