Top Picks: Mount Tantalus Round Top Drive (Scenic Lookout, Honolulu)
One of our most special evenings were spent star gazing and looking at the city lights atop Mount Tantalus after the Round Top Drive. It is so romantic and the views are breathtaking here, it is the perfect place to catch a sunset or take in the darkness. 
We’re not really night people, but it was worth coming out after dark to spend some time here. Lots of others had the same idea, and tour buses come up here as well. The drive is great up the windy roads past beautiful homes, and when you get to the top there are many lookout points to pull your car into. If you come early enough you can view from Pu’u Ualaka’a State Park which is said to be great (2760 Round Top Drive, Honolulu, HI 96822, you can use the same location to get to one of the pull off spots they are just a bit before the park itself), but it was closed by the time we were up on the road so I can’t speak to it. The best things in life are free!
