Neuberger Museum of Art

Bold African sculptures and textiles downstairs, and eclectic paintings and sculptures upstairs; if you’re living around Westchester, New York you must get yourself to the Neuberger Museum of Art in Purchase [735 Anderson Hill Road Purchase, NY 10577-1400 Follow the signs for the museum, park in Lot #1 closest to buildings, take stairs up near the tunnel] for a cultural experience. Located on the SUNY Purchase college campus, this museum is open to the general public and is free on the first Saturday of every month to visit. Inside intricately carved wooden sculptures and informational panels will give you insight into African distant life.

Masks, dolls, and axes are just a few objects you will find yourself surrounded by and learning about.

Head into the next exhibit and 19th century textiles from the Kuba people of the Congo will be all around you. Take in the unique patterns and colors. Upstairs you will find an array of paintings and physical art while walking in a loop.
