Lunch in Troy: Muddaddy Flats

I recently visited a ‘quesadillary’ in Troy called Muddaddy Flats, which has a quesadilla for any state of mind (49 3rd Street Troy, NY 12180). Parking on the streets is metered, and we were able to find a spot easily close to the storefront. It was a seriously freezing day and the business was giving out free hot cocoa to customers who braved the weather, that sweet gesture immediately made me feel comfortable and welcome visiting this restaurant for the first time. It is a colorful open space with a decent amount of seating, and a lot of different options to choose from concerning your quesadillas. IMG_3101What to choose, oh my! I ended up getting the “full” bird which had: chicken, corn, black beans, and cheddar/jack cheese with ‘Muddaddy sauce.’ IMG_3100You get an array of wrap options to choose from as well, including the ever trendy gluten free. Food was cooked to order and came out in no time on this quiet afternoon. It was a bit messy to eat, but a seriously scrumptious choice with a small side of guacamole to dip into. Not overly cheesy and packed with chicken, veggies, and sauce. The quesadillas are pretty hefty; I came in hungry and was only able to finish off three triangles leaving one to be fed to the mister after work who happily gobbled it down cold. I could get used to eating these quesadillas, and I was seriously curious about the Smore’s Dilla, if only I had space in my full happy belly! If you enjoy a quesadilla, no question this is the place for you.
