Best of Oahu Eats: Kalapawai Market

Kalapawai Market (Sandwiches, Cheap Eats, Lunch [or early dinner], Windward)

If you find yourself Windward and you’re looking for a tasty sandwich, you gotta stop at this market. These sandwiches rival my beloved Cardona’s and those back in NYC. I was skeptical reading such rave reviews, but they were dead on. Jeff and I split a toasted turkey and bacon club which was on sourdough, had muenster, lettuce, tomato, dijon, and mayo…It was a perfect little snack! IMG_1940Everything was in balance, a great amount of fresh turkey, dense yet crispiness of the bread, and the perfect amount of condiments, cheese, and veggies yummm. Very affordable, parking available, and quick friendly service. You can sit inside or at picnic tables outside, or take it to go. If you know what sandwich you want call it up before hand and it’ll be ready in five minutes. After eating take a look around their kitschy little market, maybe pick up some snacks or souvenirs. IMG_1939Keep your eyes peeled for the cat. Jeff found his favorite Maui Brewing Company beer the coconut porter here, which was difficult to find around Oahu and was extremely pleased.
