This is the kind of place I dream about having in my city. Roji Tea Lounge [108 E Washington St #2, Syracuse, NY 13202] has such a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, it’s a perfect alternative nightlife spot.
Plenty of seating to be found, be it a couch, folding chair, or floor cushion (shoeless).
Place your order at the counter and grab a game to play as you wait.
The menu was lovely and included a diverse collection of tea, funky snacks such as bagel with cream cheese/adzuki jelly and onigiri aka rice balls, and many desserts options. Their raspberry cookies were swoon-worthy. My chai came out in a bowl and it blissful.
Generally, I’m not one for nightlife. I usually go home because I’m tired from traveling and hiking around all day. I am so thankful I pushed my normal comfort zone to include this lounge, it was a highlight of my trip to Central New York.
