Outer Banks: I Got Your Crabs, North Carolina

The Outer Banks is known for its fresh crabs, they’re a must when dining out in the region.

I couldn’t have been happier with my choice of the family owned I Got Your Crabs [3809 N Croatan Hwy Kitty Hawk, NC 27949].

Located in a little strip mall, the restaurant is very relaxed and service is friendly.

We ordered a variety of appetizers and the crab bisque came out almost immediately.

It was so incredibly rich and delicious and loaded with crab meat and gone all too soon. Next up were the blue crab nachos which were equally as out of this world! The wonton chips are fried to order, cheese sauce is house made, chunks of fresh crab meat, tomatoes, onions, and chives were fresh as can be.

Then the generous amount of crab meat with butter, just to try the meat as is and it melts in your mouth. I even ate the lettuce base.

The a la carte crab cakes were fried to perfection and packed a lot of meat, accompanied by a tangy dipping sauce. Jeff gobbled up the oysters rockefeller, I’m not the biggest oyster fan – but he says they were great. A sign prominently posted on the wall states that every oyster is freshly shucked, plus you can watch the staff continuously shucking the oysters between taking orders and serving dishes. FRESH delicious seafood in a casual setting and it’s affordably priced, this is truly an OBX winner!
