Best City Parks of St. Pete’s: Crescent Lake & Vinoy

Crescent Lake Park1320 5th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

Here you have a perfect loop for strolling or jogging around a scenic body of water in a quiet residential area.

What made this park so special to me was the great diversity of birds. I mean – it was incredible! Wood stork, white pelican, anhinga, huge geese, muscovy, limpkin, and more!

There is also a playground and large expanses of green grass to stretch out on. There is plenty of street parking

Vinoy Park, 701 Bay Shore Dr NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

This is your classic waterfront green-space, perfect for walking or jogging.

Hugging the coastline, you can get a good amount of mileage in here continuing past the confines of the park. We ran here a lot and usually saw something special – like a roseate spoonbill or a manatee, and always numerous wonderful wading birds.

There are a lot of volleyball courts, a little arboretum, and space for picnicking.

It’s a lovely place within walking distance from the downtown area.
