Shopping in San Francisco: Valencia Street

Head to Valencia Street when you’re looking to buy local, home décor, or a souvenir for your friends back home:

Pirate Supply Store, 826 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110

Themes are good. For all you salts looking for an eye patch, doubloons, or a message in a bottle – this place has it all, and more! Don’t miss the saltwater fish tank with the pufferfish.

They also help under-resourced students with their writing skills, free of charge.

Dandelion Chocolate, 740 Valencia St San Francisco, CA 94110

With a beautiful selection of drinks and treats, sit down and stay a while to watch the factory’s production process. The shop offers tours, classes, and trips to farms. Short on time? Grab a package to bring home to share with loved ones. The chocolate covered almonds were sensational.

Paxton Gate, 824 Valencia St San Francisco, CA 94110

Crystals, skeletons, Venus-flytraps, oh my! Grab a book on palmistry or purchase a large unicorn head. This is a shop filled with slightly odd and morbid curiosities. There is a big focus on botanicals here, don’t miss the garden oasis out back.

City Art Cooperative Gallery, 828 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110

One thing I love to buy is a piece of art from my travels to remember the trip by! This co-op is owned and operated by almost 200 local artists whose works are rotated frequently. I loved the variety of the creative works.
