Eat you way through Venice

Osteria Enoteca Ai Artisti, Fondamenta della Toletta 1169\abc, 30123 Venezia, Italy

Osteria_Enoteca_Ai_Artisti_venice_1Without reservations, we scored the last table of the night in this cozy romantic osteria. The ambiance, food, and service were wonderful. I asked what a typical Venetian dish would include and our waiter suggested the pasta with the anchovies.

Cantine del Vino Gia Schiavi, Fondamenta Nani, 992, 30123 Dorsoduro, Venezia VE, Italy

Cantine_del_Vino_gia_veniceA great little cicchetti (venetian tapas) spot with local flavor. Ask what they are made of, or simply point to the ones you would like behind the counter. Eat standing up at the bar or bring it out to sit by the canal. Add a spritz to the equation and you have yourself the perfect snack in Venice!

All Amerone, Calle dei Sbianchesini, San Polo 1131, 30125 Venezia, Italy

Vineria_all_Amarone_veniceCicchetti and more at this wine bar! We loved sitting in the shade outside watching the people walk by the alleyway, though there is inside seating as well. Offerings included salt cod, something quite tasty that I wanted to try while visiting the city, and vibrant bruschetta.

Terrazza dei Nobili?

Ristorante_Terrazza_dei_Nobili_veniceTourist trap? Maybe. But first setting foot in Venice we were famished and enamored by the canal. Easily sitting right on the water by all of the other tourists was fine by us. The food was good and the view was unbeatable, however the portion to price ratio was a bit off and paying a cover charge (coperto) came as a surprise. If you are looking for a convenient meal without stressing about getting lost in the maze of Venice and a view to boot, this is a good choice.
