The Hyde Collection, Glens Falls

When I heard that there was going to be a Norman Rockwell exhibit at The Hyde Collection [161 Warren Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801] I was all in.

hyde_collection_I had recently fell in love with his work at another nearby museum, and it turns out most of the work seemed to be on loan from said museum so I had already seen it. No worries, because without this draw I might not have made it to a pretty interesting place. An art museum in a historic home, each room curated with care. the_hyde_collection_glens_fallsI would suggest watching the orientation video first to get an idea of how the collection works together, and the family that brought it to Glens Falls. I’ve become a fan of smaller art museums which are better for my attention span.

Walk slowly through the rooms of this Italian Renaissance-style villa and take in each detail of this intimate space. You’ll find an eclectic arrangement of items ranging from paintings, sculptures, and decorative art.
