Berkshires Eats: Public EAT+DRINK

High ceiling, interpretive art, friendly service, and darn good food. Public EAT+DRINK [34 Holden St, North Adams, MA 01247, parking in the back] is a trendy gastro pub where anyone can find something tasty that suits their palate. You’ll find lots of ingredients from local farms paired with craft beers from near and far breweries. When dining with two friends we each got completely different meals and were equally exuberant about them. I got the falafel wrap and quinoa salad which was even better than I could have predicted! The warm pita had perfectly cooked falafel, local feta, crisp red onion, and was dripping with tangy tzatziki. The salad was light and zesty, this dish was a real winner for me.

public eat+drink 2Dessert was on our minds, and to strike a note off of my summer bucket two of us decided to split the ice cream sandwich. I have to have one at least once a summer, and boy, this one was a WHOPPER. Thank goodness we decided to split, it would have been trouble if I decided to take this beast on alone. Two huge warm homemade cookies smooshed some creamy vanilla bean ice cream, slathered on top the chocolate sauce, situated next to a mountain of whipped cream.
