Albany Eats: Afghan Kabob Express

I found a new staple in my rotation of favorite restaurants, oh my goodness Afghan Kabob Express in Albany is where it is at [305 Central Ave # 2, Albany, NY 12206]. Tucked away in the little mall on Central Ave enter and you will see what I’m talking about. Let me set the scene: a dimly lit and quiet room with some sweet unobtrusive exotic beats in the background, perfection. Our quickly waitress came over to take our order. She shortly returned with a pitcher of water and three sauces: white, green, and red. White is creamy, green is kickin, and red it hot, hot, hot. We ordered bolani as an appetizer, a sizzling and fresh flat bread stuffed with potatoes that we unrestrictedly smothered with sauces.

IMG_5045Juicy, tender, perfectly seasoned meat nestled in a bed of fresh crispy greens and firm tomatoes, blanketed in a warm, fluffy pita. Everything you want it to be, oh yeah and unrestricted sauce. Top notch gyro. Next time I’m leaving room for baklava.
