Capital City Gastropub

Albany’s Capital City Gastropub is a great middle ground to take a dad who simply wants a burger and beer from a can, and a girl who is interested in something a little more unique.

The boys got Tilldale Farms burgers and were very quiet and happy with them. I tried some of the house frites and they were quite yummy.

They got Classique to drink, which was a beer from Stillwater Artisanal Ales. Silly me, I thought it was from right up the river and got excited to check out a new brewery, but apparently it’s from Maryland. Great beer nonetheless, and really cool can.

I was looking forward to trying their bone marrow appetizer, but it is no longer on the menu. Not a problem! I got the sugar snap peas with fresh horseradish and smoked haddock chowder; both were delicious especially with house-made crackers.

We had a great time sitting outside in the sun, service was great, and everyone was happy.

Try to make it there on a Wednesday night for half-priced burgers.
